Istituto di Nanotecnologia (CNR-NANOTEC)

CNR-NANOTEC is a multidisciplinary research institute with facilities spread over four locations, including a large infrastructure including about 12000 square meters of laboratories and clean rooms in Lecce headquarters, with more than 200 researchers with expertise in physics, chemistry, biology, medicine and engineering. CNR- NANOTEC is devoted to develop optimal conditions for the best brains and scientists to work through a policy of management of instrumental resources open to external projects and collaborations with the best international research centers. Particular emphasis is given to the processes of technology transfer and innovation, through a policy of strong interaction with the industrial fabric and venture capital funds, also including the creation of start- ups and spin-offs. In this context, CNR-NANOTEC has several collaborations and agreements with prestigious international research centers, including the Molecular Foundry of the University of Berkeley, Imperial College London, the University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford, the Institute for Problems in Mechanics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Wright Patterson U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory, the Wright Patterson U.S. Wright Patterson U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory, the Laboratoire des Sciences des Procédés et des Matériaux (LSPM) of CNRS, the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics, the Technical Chemistry Group of the University of Duisburg-ESSEN, the Department of Mathematics and Mechanics of Saint Petersburg State University and various collaborations with companies such as ST Microelectronics, Engineering Ingegneria Informatica SpA and Bosch, SITAEL spa also undertaken through the exchange of researchers and students. Nanotec also has significant experience in the management of high performance computing infrastructures and management of complex IT.
